There are two reasons you may receive a certificate that is different than the state you are barred in.
The Course Isn't Accredited In Your Desired State
When you complete a course that isn't accredited in any of your bar states, a certificate of completion is issued for a state where the course is accredited allowing you to apply for self-study if that is allowed in your jurisdiction.
You can view the full accreditation for each course by returning to the course page and clicking the "See All State Credits" link in the header of the course.
Your State Bar Hasn't Been Added to Your LexVid Account Yet
This is an easy fix, follow these steps and you'll be all set:
- Add your state bar to your LexVid account. Instructions on how to
- Contact customer service to notify them of the new bar and request that new certificates be issued
